Sale and rent back

We have encouraged the FSA to act as quickly as possible in this regard. We will continue to consider the developments as this work progresses toward a full regime likely to be implemented in 2010.

In the meantime we supported the FSA proposal to bring sale and rent back under the FSA regulation, using an interim regime as of 1 July 2009. We have asked the FSA to ensure firms are ‘fit and proper’ and to enforce the rules so that customers are treated fairly and understand the arrangement they are making.
