Regulatory transparency
Regulatory Transparency is the FSA’s initiative to increase the degree of transparency for retail customers; this includes proposals for authorised firms to publish customer complaint data. We have had a number of discussions with the FSA with regard to its plans and their implications for smaller firms.
The Panel is concerned that, although few smaller businesses will be directly affected by the regulatory transparency agenda, some smaller intermediary firms will be recommending insurers and product providers who are. Consequently, we are concerned that the published data should be meaningful to consumers. The Panel is keeping a watching brief on developments.
If you have ideas or experiences that could contribute constructively to the Panel’s opinions and debates on this topic, please do use the feedback form below.
