Keith Morris

Keith is Chairman and Chief Executive of Sabre Insurance Company Limited, a UK motor insurer operating through insurance intermediaries. In addition, he is Chairman of the Motor Insurers' Bureau, the organisation that compensates the victims of uninsured motorist; the general insurance FOS liaison group; and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) Members' Forum. He is also a member of the ABI Motor Committee, European Committee and General Insurance Council Management Committee.

Background

Keith has spent over 35 years working in the insurance industry, mainly in insurance companies, and with more than 20 years in the London Market. His previous experience covered many types of insurance including personal lines, commercial insurance and London Market lines such as marine, aviation and treaty. He has also been Chair of the Economics and Finance Committee of the CEA (Comite Europeen des Assurance), which is the insurers' representative body in Europe.

Particular areas of interest on the Panel

Keith feels it is important to influence the FSA to see that regulation must be proportionate for smaller firms and that regulation cannot simply be 'read-across' inappropriately from other sectors to the general insurance sector. He also joined the Panel so as to have more of an ability to scrutinise the FSA budgets to ensure that regulation represents value for money for the consumers who ultimately pay for it.
