Background

Guy has worked for Sarasin for 15 years. Prior to this he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Smith & Williamson, where he specialised in financial service company audits and regulatory advice. During his training he also spent a year on secondment at the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation (IMRO).

Particular areas of interest on the Panel

Guy is keen to improve the FSA’s understanding of the asset management sector and their business models. He feels regulation is often not proportionate for the risks that asset managers pose to the regulatory framework, and many of the recent initiatives by the FSA including distributor influenced funds, the Retail Distribution Review and the regulation of alternative investment funds will have a large impact on the asset management sector.
